UK Flights To Africa
Africa is the worlds second largest and possibly one of the most unspoilt continents, even though it is highly populated. There are 53 countries within it and various island groups too; the continent is diverse and holds many different people, languages and sub-cultures. Many UK tourists who go to Africa go for the incredible landscapes and the amazing safaris. Africa is the home of many exotic animals such as lions and tigers, giraffes, gazelles etc. Just some of the countries that make up the continent of Africa include Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Congo, Egypt, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya Libya, Malawi, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Togo, Tunisia, Zimbabwe and more. Some of these countries have documented troubles, so you just check before you go if it is a suitable time to travel.
There are not a hug amount of flights from the UK to Africa in general, so prices are generally higher. Direct flights are generally from the London airports like Gatwick and Heathrow although fights with changes are available from other airports, although the easiest what is normally via London. Some locations like Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia are very poplar and prices are competitive. Over the British Winter and summer, flights are still at a premium because people are going during school holidays but also when they want to escape the chills on the UK. You can fly with Air France or Afrigihah Airways, although Easyjet, Ryanair and Thomsonfly now go to Morocco and Tunisia. The local airport is Tambo International (in Johannesburg, South Africa) and Cairo (in Egypt).
Although Africa is a large continent, the weather is generally warm it is located atop the equator. The weather is however cooler on the coasts; but the continent centre is very dry and hot. The normal heat in this area is 27 degrees centigrade. The northern and southern region has a rainforest belt and gets a wet season, during summer months. The average annual rainfall is between 20 to 60 inches.
Before travel to Africa, you must get yourself vaccinated against diseases like malaria, which spreads by mosquito bites (you will have to get this 2 months earlier, and make all the required payments).
Safari tour is one of the most interesting things to do for the tourists. Tanzania offers several nature reserves, which you can visit and explore. You can go for safe day trips wherein the tourist guide will take you vehicle to the best locations at an appropriate time of day. You can watch for example, the specific Chimpanzee program in the Mahal Mountains in Tanzania.
In Kenya there is a lot of lush land; Kenya is also a growing city and you can meet the locals and get n idea of authentic African life; it is also the home of the Masaii. There are lots of high end reports to stay in Kenya where even the Royals have stayed.
In Zanzibar, you will find many beaches, which are pristine; such as Pemba, Mafia, and Unguja. Don’t forget to take your camera along. It should be of good quality with a suitable protective gear, to safeguard it from the really hot climate.
